However, as reported by World of Buzz, Friday (6/18/2021), Google Meet has issued a statement that it will make group calls that are usually free to be limited and can only be used for 1 hour. This one-hour restriction will take effect from 28 June 2021. Based on the information from the official website, it says that; “Gmail users will have unlimited free group calls (three or more people) on meet.google.com until June 28. After that, users need to upgrade as web-hosted group calls longer than 60 minutes,” the statement reads. Meanwhile, as reported by The Verge, Friday (6/18/2021), Google wanted to apply this 60-minute restriction twice but was rejected twice. Google Meet was made accessible to everyone from April 2020 and they first wanted to implement the one hour limit in September 2020, but then it was pushed back to March 2021. In March 2021, it was pushed back to the end of June instead.
